Warm Seats, Warm Hearts
Supporting Comfort and Sustainability in Our Church
As many of you may recall, our church's heating system failed right before Christmas last year, leaving the space so cold that it was difficult to spend any time inside. Unfortunately, this isn’t a quick fix, but we’re determined to create a warm and welcoming environment for everyone.
To do that, we need your help to raise £12,400 to purchase heated cushions. We're partnering with the Give to Go Green scheme, where every £1 you donate will be matched by the Church of England, doubling your impact.
You might be wondering, what are these miracle cushions?
Sit & Heat provides innovative heating solutions specifically designed for churches and cathedrals. Their heated chair and pew cushions deliver direct warmth to individuals, helping us reduce energy costs while supporting our sustainability goals. These cushions are cordless, rechargeable, and come with smart sensors that automatically turn them on and off.
From 8th September to 20th October, we aim to raise £6,200, which the Church of England will then double. To find out how you can get involved, follow us on X (@stjohnseltham), check out events titled "Give To Go Green" in our calendar, and click the button below to make a donation.
Together, we can keep our church warm and inviting for everyone!
