Music
There has been a long tradition of music at Eltham Parish Church. The Choir sings at the 10am Holy Communion every Sunday and at other significant services during the church year. The church contains a very fine 3-manual organ built by Henry Willis.
Each year, a festival is held to celebrate the patron saint St John the Baptist. This festival held on the Sunday closest to the saint’s feast day of 24th June.
The choir sings a wide range of music including hymns, and anthems. Anyone is welcome to join. If you would like to get involved in the music at St John’s, by singing in the choir or in some other way, please do get in touch with Theo – either by email or by speaking to him after one of our Sunday morning services. We very much welcome anyone who is interested in joining in with our music-making, whether you are an experienced musician or have never sung in public before!
The Church is also used for concerts throughout the year, celebrating many different genres of music.
