Baptisms

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your baby!

If you live in the parish of St John the Baptist, have a close pastoral connection with this Church, or regularly attend services here then do please make contact with us about the services of Baptism. You can find out which is your local parish church on the website A Church near you.

Baptism at St John the Baptist

Baptism (sometimes called a Christening) is the sacrament of welcome into the universal Church. If you live in the parish of St John the Baptist the baptism can take place here. If you have a close pastoral connection with this Church or regularly attend services, but don’t live within the Parish, then the baptism can also take place here. If you do not live in the parish and do not have a pastoral connection, we suggest that you contact your local parish church. It is important that baptism takes place in a church community that can nurture your faith and welcome you to become part of its community.

Baptisms can be held throughout the year, either within the main Sunday service or on a Sunday afternoon. There are no charges for baptism.

Initial enquiries can be made by emailing the Vicar on vicar@elthamchurch.org.uk or by dropping into the Church each Saturday, between 10am-11am. Please come and meet us!
