WELCOME BACK AND A HAPPY EASTER!
It was wonderful to see members of the congregation returning last Sunday. We are very happy to welcome all parishioners back to St John’s and hope that everyone finds themselves and their families safe and well. The past few months – not to mention the past year – have been tough for many, and we want to extend our thanks to everyone for their support of the church and their cooperation over this time. Today’s Eucharist will be a family service, with no crèche or Junior Church.
Please be advised that safety guidance remains in place:
• Maintain two-metre social distancing, including when seated
• Sanitise hands and follow the one-way system
• Wear a mask throughout the service
• There’ll be no singing by the congregation
• Exit via the door next to the Lady Chapel
• Do feel free to socialise in the churchyard, maintaining the necessary distance
We pray for:
Our local churches and schools: for Lambeth North Deanery, particularly for St Peter’s in Clapham, St John the Evangelist in Angell Town, St Matthew with St Jude in Brixton; for St Jude’s CofE Primary School in Lambeth and St John’s CofE Primary School, Walworth; for the priests and people of all these places
Our local community: We pray for the Southwark Diocesan Spiritual Formation Group, which supports individuals and churches in the areas of prayer and spiritual development. We pray for all those providing resources and tools to aid spiritual growth for the benefit of individuals and the enrichment of congregational life
Our church family abroad: for Southwark’s link dioceses in Zimbabwe, particularly for the Anglican Diocese of Manicaland – a community supported by the Bishop of Southwark’s Lent Call; for all people in Zimbabwe suffering hardship and hunger
We also pray this Easter for peace in Jerusalem, for the security and prosperity of all its people, that God’s truth and light may shine where there is darkness.
Those celebrating birthdays: Jean Harker
Those who are ill: Thelma Laverley, Joyce Sillah, Cindy Shipp
Those whose year’s mind we keep: Molly Sisley
Sunday 11th April at 10am: Second Sunday of Easter
