Sunday 2nd May 2021

It’s wonderful to see more members of the congregation returning and we hope that everyone finds themselves and their families safe and well. Please be advised thatsafety guidance remains in place, including the wearing of masks throughout the service, the one-way system and two-metre social distancing, including when seated.

In preparation for the church’s annual general meeting on 30th May, the Electoral Roll is being updated. If you attend St John’s regularly, are baptised and are over 16,you are eligible to be added to the roll. Please speak to Jean Harker or the churchwardens for more information and an application form.

Every third Sunday, the 10am Eucharist will be a family service. There’ll be no crèche or Junior Church, to allow children to be part of the church family. Dates for these services in spring and summer are 16th May, 20th June, 18th July and 15th August.

For a second year, Christian Aid has been unable to hold its traditional ‘Circle the City’ walk in London, which usually involves hundreds of people. Margaret Taylorwill instead be walking the boundary of our parish – about 5.5 miles – on 15th May.

Margaret will start from the ‘up’ platform of Mottingham station just before 11am. If anyone would like to join her for all or part of the route, please find her after theservice or call 020 8850 9450. Margaret isn’t walking for sponsorship, but asks that everyone be generous in filling the Christian Aid envelopes arranged by Robyn Price.
