Sunday 27th June 2021

People pray in church before the Eucharist. Please respect the quiet before the service begins.

Please feel free to socialise in the churchyard,
maintaining the necessary distance.

There’ll be a training session for all those on the Parochial Church Council, especially new members, on 1st July at 7:30 pm. There’ll also be safeguarding training for PCC members and sidespeople – dates TBC soon. Online renewals for the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS checks) will resume shortly. All those involved will be notified.

Do let us know of anyone you wish the congregation to pray for. There is a list on the noticeboard by the entrance to add the names of any loved ones who are ill, or who have recently died. There’s a separate list at the exit near the Lady Chapel to markbirthdays, and the names of those whose year’s mind we keep.

Thanks to everyone at St John’s who contributed to the collection for Christian Aid during Christian Aid Week. We raised £927.71. Your support is much appreciated!

As we approach the Feast Day of St Peter and St Paul on 29th June, we pray that God’s Church, inspired by the Apostles’ teaching and example and made one by the Holy Spirit, may ever stand firm upon the one true foundation, which is Jesus Christ our Lord.

At this time of year, we also remember the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Elizabeth. Almighty God, who inspired the Blessed Virgin Mary to visit Elizabeth, grant that we may proclaim the incarnation of Your only begotten Son, to whom with the Holy Ghost be all honour and glory.
