A NEW POST FOR FATHER JIM
As some of you may have heard, Fr Jim has been appointed to a new post, as rector of four churches in the Diocese of St Andrew’s, Dunkeld and Dunblane in the Scottish Episcopal Church. His last Sunday at St John’s will be 27th October, following which the church will be in interregnum until a new priest is appointed. Fr Jim will be greatly missed, and we’d like to bid him a fond farewell following his last Parish Eucharist with a glass of wine and light refreshments in church. All are invited!
The Harvest Festival Eucharist will be at 10am on Sunday 6th October. If you can, please bring in donations of food, toiletries and clothing for the Manna Society, whose day centre in Bermondsey provides meals, showers, medical care and a place to rest for more than 100 people every day. Items most in need include sugar, powdered milk, tinned vegetables and rice, as well as soap, shampoo and underwear. There is a complete list posted on the church noticeboard. Many thanks.
We need two people to join our rota of coffee makers who provide drinks after theSunday Eucharist. Each helper only has to pitch in roughly six times a year, making the tea and coffee then washing up. If you can help, please see Cindy Shipp.
FILES AND FOLDERS
Peter and Elaine Horton have lots of ring binders, lever-arch files and plastic wallets that they no longer use, and would rather pass them on than throw them out. If anyone in the congregation could use them, please speak to Peter at church, call 020 8850 3791 or email MrsElaineHorton@aol.com. Elaine is happy to deliver!

it would help the church if you use a gift-aid envelope. This will enable the church to claim 25p for every £1 you give. Envelopes are at the back of church. Thank you.
Please send any items for inclusion in next Sunday’s news sheet to Amanda Jordan at firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday morning. Thank you.
