SUMMER QUIET DAY

There will be a Diocesan Quiet Day at Wychcroft in Bletchingly on Saturday 27th July from 10am to 4pm. It’ll be a day of ‘quiet reflection and prayer’ in the Surrey countryside. The cost is £30, which includes Wychcroft’s ‘legendarily lovely’ lunch and other refreshments. To apply, please email spirituality@southwark.anglican.org.

WENSLEY CLOSE

The Friends of Wensley Close invite you to a coffee morning next Tuesday, 23rd July, at 10am-12.30pm at Charter House, King John’s Walk. The Eltham-based charity raises funds to provide specialist equipment, play and craft materials for children with profound learning and physical disabilities. More information is available on

GROWING IN FAITH AND LIFE

Applications are still open for the Bishop’s Certificate in Discipleship 2019-2020, a 10-month course entitled ‘Growing in Faith and Life.’ The course, which starts in September, has six modules, including the history of the Anglican Church, what Christians believe, and ethics. Do pick up a leaflet at the back of church for details. 

CREATIVE ART RETREAT: RESPLENDENT BEAUTY

The Wychcroft diocesan training centre will host an art retreat on 17th-19th September. Participants will consider how God transforms us from the inside out, is our shelter and our provider – exploring biblical themes through drawing and painting butterflies. Suitable for beginners and experienced artists, the retreat costs £165. For booking and more information, email wychcroft@southwark.anglican.org.

SPIRITUALITY DAY

The Southwark Diocese will hold a spirituality day on Saturday 19th October at Southwark Cathedral. Entitled ‘To Be a Pilgrim,’ the day conference will ask what it means to be a pilgrim on the Christian journey. Speakers include Dr Meg Warner, an Old Testament scholar and author of books on Abraham, and Bishop of Southwarkthe Rt Revd Christopher Chessun. Flyers are available at the back of church.
